Common questions about skylights
Will there be a temperature increase when I have my skylight installed?
There is no significant increase to temperature when an insulated Statewide Skylight is installed. This is because of the combined insulation effect of the double glazed polycarbonate skylight top, the air barrier in the light shaft and the design of the light diffuser at ceiling level.
What is the difference between Glocell and Clear Prismatic Light Diffusers?
The Glocell (ventilated) is an egg crate style diffuser, finishing the light shaft at ceiling level without obstructing the ventilation. Clear prismatic (unvented) diffusers consist of myriads of clear prisms which diffuse the light evenly over a wide area.
What style of buildings are skylights best suited?
Statewide Skylights are designed to give added light to the interior of virtually any building. Whether it's a home, office, factory, school or shopping centre Statewide Skylights have a style to suit you.
Do They Leak?
No.
How weather proof are skylights?
Provided the skylight is professionally installed, weatherproofing will stand up to the most severe storms. Correct sealing ensures long lasting weatherproof protection. Many options. One standard. Statewide Skylights make stylish designs to complement any home. The finish of the ceiling opening is a white powder coated tee-bar frame which houses the prismatic or Glocell diffuser This combination of materials gives our skylights a great look with a practical, highly functional design. The diffuser can be easily lifted for cleaning. All Statewide Skylights offer controlled natural light which will create a pleasant atmosphere in any room. The stylish appearance has proven to be extremely popular with home owners Australia wide.
